Festivals and Events

We have a proven track record of running workshops for festivals and events, large and small, addressing environmental themes. In particular, we aim to engage participants in identifying waste as a resource, reusing and repurposing salvaged materials and reducing consumption through the complete use of resources currently at hand. We can create customised workshops that raise awareness around these themes as well as deliver a specific outcome as part of an event e.g. themed wearable art for a parade, party or performance.

Working within a budget, we can provide all tools, materials and facilitators and schedule workshops designed to engage communities anywhere in South East QLD.

Please note, special projects are quoted on a one off basis, depending on the scale and requirements of the project. If you are planning an event, and have a particular idea in mind, we’d love to hear from you and develop a custom theme to compliment your event, inspire your community and provide an enriching and creative experience for participants.

You can request a custom workshop for your festival or event here or contact us to talk about a special project by email here or call us on (07) 3891 9744.

Listed below are the the workshops we regularly deliver at festivals and events as they are proven to  engage participants in a creative activity that utilises exciting and unusual salvaged materials.

WEARABLE ART / CREATIVE COSTUMES
This workshop is a great festival favourite as we provide everything necessary to get kids creating their own wearable creations. Superheroes, fairies, sci-fi, medieval you name it, we can make it with salvaged materials! The activity of creating a costume is fun and engaging, but participants also leave dressed up which only adds to the fun festival atmosphere. We have run these workshops for eventswith specific outcomes designed to be worn in a parade and also as a "drop in" workshop wear kids can use their imagination to make what they like.

BUGS, INSECTS AND CREEPY CRAWLIES

Insects are a crucial part of the eco-systems we depend on for food. All sorts of tiny creatures live in our gardens, the bush and the forest, just waiting to be discovered. This workshop is a great way Why not make your own insect from industrial discards? Making butterflies, lady beetle, dragonfly or even a scorpion using collage, 3D construction and other materials to decorate.
