Friends of the Earth - Brisbane (FoE) is a social justice and environmental organisation that works towards a more socially equitable and environmentally sustainable future through community action. FoE is housed within the Reverse Garbage warehouse at 20 Burke St, Woolloongabba.

Justice Products sell ethically produced goods such as coffee and tea. 

Spiral Community Hub is a West End-based community development organisation. 

Transition Kurilpa Capturing West End, Highgate Hill, Hill End and South Brisbane. Anyone who lives and/or works in the Kurilpa area is welcome to help create a sustainable Kurilpa peninsular. 

Food Connect is a social business that works in collaboration with local farmers around Brisbane to deliver the fresh food to Brisbane residents efficiently, affordably and equitably. They are passionate about changing the way food is grown and distributed in this and any country where exploitation of farmers and customers is rampant.

Local Power is a community owned group consisting of people interested in sustainable power generation. They are currently exploring the potential to establish a buying group for residents interested in the purchase of PV solar based electricity. 

West End Community House is a community centre that provides a range of services and activities for residents living within the inner southern suburbs of Brisbane. 

Northey Street City Farm is Brisbane's largest community-based urban permaculture garden.

Brisbane LETS (Local Area Trading System) is a non-profit community organisation that provides a means for ordinary people to share skills, talents and resources using an alternative currency.

EcoDirectory is an online directory listing eco friendly products, events and entertainment as a comprehensive guide to sustainable living.

HOPE Inc (Householders' Options to Protect the Environment) is a community based not-for-profit environment organization promoting sustainability at the householder level of activity.

4ZZZ (102.1FM) is an independent community radio station that has been broadcasting in Brisbane since 1975. Established to provide a radical alternative to mainstream news, promote engagement and activism and promote local and Australian music. Don't forget to show your 4zzz subscriber card at Reverse Garbage for 10% off raw materials.

The Good Guide is a niche guide that pools the locals knowledge of Brisbane to help visitors and locals seek out both new and old nooks and crannies that may have been surpassed. V.I.Pigeon Pass holders receive  10% off raw materials at Reverse Garbage until December 2012.

Other Resource Recovery Centres 

Reverse Art Truck in Victoria is not connected with us but does similar work.  

The Logan Recycling Market collects and sells unwanted materials rather than send them off to landfill. Materials collected and sold include bric-a-brac, hardware materials, toys, household furniture, bicycles and building materials.

Free Cycle is a site dedicated to saving resources from going to landfill. People register their unwanted 'stuff' to make it available to others for free. 

The Bower Re-use and Repair Centre Co-operative in New South Wales is a community based co-operative that diverts unwanted household goods away from landfill to get them back in to the community. 

ReMake CRC Inc is a not for profit organisation catering to the creative desires of the Newcastle and Hunter community. They collect wonderful reusable waste materials from local businesses for the community as well as hosting art and sustainability workshops.

REmida is a new creative reuse centre based in Perth offering materials for creative and educational projects. 

Eaglehawk Recycle Shop  is a community enterprise 'Recycle Shop' in Central Victoria. 

Brisbane Tip Shop opened recently in Acacia Ridge to sell useful items from Brisbane's transfer stations back to the public.

Artisan  is the peak body in Queensland presenting and promoting unique and individual quality crafted design to an Australian and international audience.

Brisbane Institute of Art  The Institute provides a non-profit creative arts centre housing studios, workshops and galleries. The Institute supports contemporary creative arts practice in an environment open to variety and continual change.
